The EU and most countries around the world charge a VAT to pick up Meddy from customs. 

Customs will send you a card in the mail letting you know to come pay the fee. (see below)

You can pay the customs online, in person, or send a check. Once paid, they will deliver to you. Customs in the UK will hold the unpaid package for 21 days before returning to us in the USA. 

VAT (Value Added Tax) changes per country around the world. EU countries charge at least 20% VAT on goods. UK VAT currently is £13.95 for one bear.  

Some countries are VAT exempt such as Australia for goods under a certain price.
